Description

KCG is seeking a Linux Sysadmin to join our team.
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain the Linux systems infrastructure. 
  • Manage and maintain servers; VMs & bare metal 
  • Ensure the security, availability, and reliability of the Linux systems infrastructure. 
  • Understand a sensibly implement organizational specific policies and security controls and STIG checklists 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot Linux systems and applications. 
  • Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning. 
  • Monitor system performance and resource usage. 
  • Ability to plan and optimize workflows and procedures to support lifecycle maintenance  

Requirements: 

Experience & Education: 

  • Eligible under the DCWF (DoD Cyber Workforce Framework)  
  • IAT-II (IAT Level 2) / IT Cyber Intermediate DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program (or DoD 8570 equivalent) 
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or related role. 
  • Secret (or higher) Security clearance 
  • Security+ 
  • Experience with RMF cybersecurity framework 
  • Preferred additional experience with (professional or personal experience acceptable) 
  • Linux+ 
  • ACAS / Tenable Security Center 
  • eMASS 
  • DADMS 
  • IaaC (such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc.) 
  • Containers (such as Docker, LXC, etc.) 
  • Kubernetes aka k8s (Rancher, RKE, kubectl)  

Skills: 

  • Strong in Linux (RHEL specifically) systems administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. 
  • Understanding of network protocols and concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). 
  • Experience with security best practices and Navy RMF process 
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl). 
  • ​​​​​​​Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
